Artist Statement:
I started this series based on childhood snapshots of my three siblings. With the faces isolated and magnified, they became an exploration of my relationships with, and feelings towards each sibling. My brother and sisters are all grown up now, and yet here at the beginning of their lives, in their formative years, is a kernel of who they are to become, and at the same time the infinite potential of what they could be. Their lives have a context that goes beyond any one given moment in time. Everything that came before them is part of what makes them who they are. There are millions of small pieces that happen individually, but add up to create a whole, which is much like the medium of cross-stitch.
