Biography

Anne Karste was born in Harlingen, Holland in 1949 became a professional schoolteacher. She also studied watercolours (aquarelle) at the Centre of Artificial Development in The Hague. Her teachers were well known artists like Mara Jabaay and Chaya Agur. The subjects of her paintings are various: she makes portraits, typical Dutch houses, streets and windmills, flowers, music-instruments and many other interesting sites in other countries during vacations. Often she makes paintings based on photographs made by her husband. The last years she exposed several times in The Hague, Voorburg, Scheveningen and Delft at well-know galleries. Some of her work has been bought by art-lovers in England and Canada. Anne Marie still gets lessons to improve her skills. She also teaches beginners who want to learn the basics of water-colour-painting.
