Biography
I have loved color from the beginning. I began drawing and playing with color as a toddler with my crayons, and through the years have explored many mediums - batik, pastels, patchwork creations, watercolors, stained glass, acrylics and finally to oil painting which I thoroughly love. My imagination is very colorful and I see art in everything.
I grew up in rural Southwestern New Brunswick in a family of artists and musicians. I married a musician in 1973 and we have three artistically-inclined children who are now pursuing their own dreams.
I graduated from high school in 1973, Community College as a dressmaker in 1975, and through the years have studied many things - writing for children, real estate, eastern and western religions and Spiritualism. I presently am a Reiki Practioner, as well as working as a teacher assistant in an elementary school with children having special needs.
I have studied briefly under several artists - 1975 batik, from Betty Lee , 1992 - watercolors under Elise Kohl, 1999-2001 oils with Simone Henry, and 2001 oils with Denis Cloutier.
Some of my paintings are in private collections, some are for sale in an art store in Campbellton, N.B., and some are on display/for sale at the Adelaide Manoire in Dalhousie, N.B.
I have participated in group exhibitions in Dundee, N.B. in June 2000, January 2001, and June 2001.
